2009 GardensIn 2009 three new school garden spaces were established in Mississauga through the EcoSourcel Learning Gardens Program. Lisgar Learning Garden In 2009 students, staff and community members gathered to plan and plant the Lisgar Learning Garden at Lisgar Middle School. This garden provides a shaded outdoor classroom space for recreational and educational use. This project was made possible with support from Loblaws Community Investment and generous community donations.
McKinnon Learning Garden In 2009 students, staff and community members gathered to plan and plant the McKinnon Learning Garden at McKinnon Public School in Mississauga. This garden provides multiple shaded seating areas and naturalized spaces for recreational and educational use. This project was made possible with support from Loblaws Community Investment and the McKinnon School Council.
Elmcrest Learning Garden In 2009 students, staff and communtiy members gathered to plan and plant the Elmcrest Learning Garden at Elmcrest Public School in the Clarkson neighbourhood of Mississauga. This garden adds on to established school garden spaces developed at Elmcrest in previous years. This project was made possible with support from the Meridian Credit Union Good Neighbour Program and volunteer support from local Girl Guide and Brownie Groups. |
