Peel Environmental Youth Alliance

The Peel Environmental Youth Alliance (PEYA) is a network of action-oriented students in Peel Region concerned about environmental; issues and determined to make positive change.

What we do!

Networking - PEYA unites students across Peel working to improve the environment in their schools and communities. We provide a forum for students to learn from one another and form relationships with local environmental organizations.

Support - Based on our strong expertise, PEYA provides support to other students and teachers looking to create sustained environmental change in their schools.

Education - PEYA organizes fun and effective educational events, engaging students across the Region, including skill-building workshops and our popular EcoBuzz Conference.

Strategy - PEYA is a catalyst for youth participation in environmental policy-making and is committed to exploring good practices for youth-adult partnerships. Currently PEYA sits on the Mississauga Environmental Advisory Committee with City Councilors and Professional representatives, addresses Peel School boards annually with policy recommendations and works with the Region on strategies to increase student active transportation to school.

All Peel youth, age 13-24, are welcome to attend PEYA's monthly meetings and join our action committees. Visit PEYA at http://www.peyalliance.com/ or contact us at info(at)peyalliance.com
