Naturalization

EcoSource has teamed up with Evergreen, the University of Toronto at Mississauga, the City of Mississauga and Credit Valley Conservation to deliver naturalization projects in Mississauga public spaces. We're building healthy communities through public participation in planting and stewardship activities (that's where you come in!).

Without you and the tremendous support of other volunteers including school groups, families, corporate groups, social service agencies, community groups and faith based groups, this project would not be a success.

Volunteers are needed! Check out our Get Involved section for volunteer event listings.

Community events are organized and are suited to people of all ages and skill levels. Learn skills required to design, plant and maintain naturalized green space. On-site training in native plant identification, proper planting techniques and site natural history is provided.

You will learn about Mississauga's natural heritage as well as your role in environmental stewardship. With your support, we will reach our ultimate goal of restoring wildlife habitat and increasing the abundance and diversity of native plants in Mississauga. This is an important task in a city experiencing rapid urban growth and change.
